Dr. Eva Kao earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from National Taiwan University. After graduation, she worked as a shelter veterinarian before moving to the United States. She completed a rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at Oklahoma State University, where she also earned a master's degree in clinical research with a focus on Cytauxzoonosis, otherwise known as Bobcat Fever. She then earned a second master's degree during her small animal internal medicine residency at Purdue University. At Purdue, she developed interest and skill in minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract disease, such as cystoscopy with laser ablation for ectopic ureter and urinary incontinence, urethral stenting, subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUB), and lithotripsy for bladder stone removal. She also enjoys clinical pathology and treating patients for immune-mediated and infectious disease.
In her spare time, Dr. Kao enjoys a variety of hobbies, including cooking, crafting, bird watching, hiking, and rock climbing with her husband. Their pets include: Ghost, an American Eskimo dog; Spooky, a tortoiseshell cat; and Chewy, a long-haired tabby.
