Dr. Emily Brand was born and raised in Ohio. She attended Wilmington College in Ohio for her undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following graduation, she moved from Ohio to New York to attend the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She was inducted into the veterinary honor society, Phi Zeta, during her final year of schooling.
After receiving her DVM degree in 2015, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at BluePearl Georgia Veterinary Specialists. After her internship, she worked in general practice in Sugarland, Texas, and Lafayette, Indiana. During this time, she developed a love for radiology and decided to pursue further specialization.
Dr. Brand then completed a four-year radiology residency at Purdue University. During her time at Purdue, she was involved in several research projects and presented at the BSAVA Veterinary Conference. Dr. Brand became board-certified in the American College of Veterinary Radiologists and the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2021.
Dr. Brand moved to Colorado and joined AESC in January 2022. She enjoys all fields of imaging, including radiographs, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Outside of work, Dr. Brand enjoys baking, reading, hiking, and snowboarding. She and her husband (Dr. Ken Brand, our surgeon) have two pets, a dog named Huck and a cat named Allis.
