Lisa NowickiDr. Lisa Nowicki joined the AESC team in August 2008. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Connecticut in 2003 and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 2007.

Dr. Nowicki began her veterinary career as a technician assistant in a small animal practice in western Massachusetts, working through high school and college. After completing her undergraduate degree she moved to Michigan for veterinary school where she became interested in surgery and emergency medicine. She completed a small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Specialists and Animal Emergency in Rochester, NY.

Dr. Nowicki is originally from Northern Berkshire County in Massachusetts where she developed her love of the outdoors and the mountains, especially. She moved to Colorado “just because” and to enjoy even bigger mountains. She currently shares her home with “the best dog in the world,” Marietta, a Mexican street mutt who was rescued and flown to Michigan by a fellow student. Dr. Nowicki also has collected four super cool cats — Melvin, Herman, Calvin and George; four rats — Sophia, Victoria, Abigail and Momma Rat; and a beta fish named Broseph. Dr. Nowicki enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, biking and running and plays for the Glendale Raptors women’s rugby team.
