Forest Burkhart, CVT, VTS (SAIM) – Internal Medicine

Forest BurkhartForest received his AAS degree from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2004. Prior to joining AESC in September 2004, Forest worked at Cat Hospital-Southeast while attending Bel-Rea, followed by an internship with AESC. Forest’s professional interests include emergency medicine, anesthesia, endocrine disorders and immune mediated disease. Forest is now the head technician for the Internal Medicine Department and recently received his Veterinary Technician Specialist Certification in small animal internal medicine. Forest was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant in 1999. He did wireless construction in Colorado for two years prior to attending Bel-Rea. Forest is married with two toddlers, three cats and two dogs. One of his dogs was rescued and has Addison’s disease and protein-losing enteropathy.
